Undercover: Stories from the Real-life Line of Duty

Christian Plowman spent 16 years in the Met Police, living undercover and risking his life for his job. He infiltrated gangs. He posed as a drug dealer. At one point he had 12 separate identities - and 12 mobile phones. Now working against wildlife traffickers in Africa, Christian shares hair-raising stories from his remarkable life in law-enforcement, in conversation with regular Nutshell True Stories host Duncan Steer.

DUNCAN STEER

Duncan Steer worked for everyone from Smash Hits to Saga magazine, via The Guardian and Independent before specialising in hosting live interview events around the country.

Past and future guests at the Nutshell include Tour de France commentators Matt Rendell and Carlton Kirby, ex-undercover detective Christian Plowman and adventurer Emily Chappell. “I want these to be great nights out in the company of someone who has taken an unusual path through life,” he says, “Like a live chat show, rather than some kind of dusty-dry ‘talk’.”
