Comedy @ The Nutshell is back with another incredible line-up featuring Tom Ward, Sara Baron, Peter Rethinasamy* and host Paul McCaffrey. This evening is set to be a corker of a night, book quick to avoid disappointment!
Tom Ward
Tom Ward is a comedian and voice actor. His comedy has featured on Comedy Central – ‘Roast Battle’, ‘Stand Up Central’ & ‘Live from The Comedy Store’, and that Lab Bible series ‘In My Personal Space’ for Wrigley’s interviewing celebs up reeeaal close. His voice work features as narrator on ‘Ice Road Truckers’ on Channel 5 and ‘Abandoned Engineering’ on Yesterday TV.
Sara Baron
Sara Barron is one of the fastest-rising comedians of her generation. Since her 2018 debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, she’s starred on shows including Live at the Apollo (BBC), Would I Lie to You? (BBC) and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC).
A powerhouse live act, Sara’s two stand-up hours, For Worse (2018) and Enemies Closer (2019) have sold out at both the Edinburgh Festival and at multiple runs in London’s Soho Theatre. She was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and at the Chortle Awards, as well as receiving rave reviews from publications including The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Evening Standard and The Scotsman.
Sara’s further television credits include 8 Out of 10 Cats (C4), Hypothetical (DAVE), Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC), Alan Davies’ As Yet Untitled (DAVE), Roast Battle (Comedy Central) and Hello, America (Quibi). On radio, her credits include appearances on The News Quiz, The Now Show, and Woman’s Hour on Radio 4.
Peter Rethinasamy*** line-up change from Esther Manito
Born and raised in Belfast to a Malaysian father and Irish mother, Peter is a comedian with hard hitting, punchy jokes and hilarious tales of growing up in Northern Ireland. Since he started performing stand up, he has reached the semi-finals of the Laughing Horse New Act Competition and won the London Comedy Store's King Gong Competition. He is also resident MC at Fulham Comedy Club.Since live stand up has been paused, Peter has been combining his love of writing stand up and acting by creating funny sketches for Instagram.
Paul McCaffrey
Star of Live at the Apollo (BBC2) Impractical Jokers (BBC3) Russell Howards Good News (BBC3) Stand up Central (Comedy Central) and as seen on The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC) and Channel 4’s 5o Funniest.
On the radio, Paul has recently co-hosted the Rock and Roll football on Absolute Radio and the Warm up on TalkSport as well as guesting on Rob Beckett’s show on Absolute and performing Stand up on Russell Kanes Whistlestop Tour on Radio 2. Paul is also the co-host of Radio Xs The Britpopcast, a brand new podcast all about 90s music with George Lewis.
Paul has recently appeared on major UK tours with two of Britain’s foremost stand ups, Sean Lock and Kevin Bridges – playing to more than half a million people in Arenas and theatres to great critical acclaim. He has also been the support act for Michael Mcintyre, John Bishop and Lee Mack. 2019 saw McCaffrey take to the road for his first solo headline tour ‘I thought I’d have grown out of this by now’, playing to packed houses across the UK. In Spring 2020, he’ll be hitting the road again in his own right this time, with hilarious new show LEMON.
